ABOUT DARYL ANTHONY HARPER

Daryl Anthony Harper is an American-born Voice Over Artist and Actor best known for his work in the commercial industry as a Narrator for the award-winning “Ask” campaign, the lead role as “Raven” in the newly released VR2 game by Sony Playstation and First Contact Entertainment, the “Dark Sky” character in the animated national “Travel Oregon Tourism” tv spot, and as an ADR performer on films such as Zodiak directed by David Fincher and Bolden directed by Dan Pritzker.

Daryl graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Radio, Film, and TV Production, but was smitten by the craft of Acting while taking a basic fundamentals class in an effort to become a better Director.

Life, love, and the pursuit of a stable future took hold and after a 15-year stint in the Financial Services, Luxury Retail, and High Tech industries, which included a 4-year marriage, Daryl secured his first agency representation with Stars, the Agency, San Francisco, California in March of 2004. Daryl was finally pursuing his dream! Of course, it only took 3 attempts and two years of honing his skills on stage, before the agency "heard" something in Daryl.

Daryl was quickly blessed with numerous opportunities in the Commercial VO market. He had recurring Voice Over roles for the GMC brand, "An American Revolution" campaign. Continuing with his love of theatre and a thirst to learn more about the craft, Daryl went on to be a part of over 30 full-length live theatre shows, most of which took place from 2003-2008 and 2012-2014.

Some other highlights of his artistic journey include a starring role in a Regional Comcast/Xfinity commercial, principal work as the husband on a national Google Assist commercial, and looping opportunities on a national Capital One commercial. Theatre highlights include the lead in James Baldwin's "Sonny's Blues" directed by Margo Hall, which toured four cities in France, a principal role in "Short Eyes", written by Miguel Piñero and directed by Julian Acosta, at the Los Angeles Theatre Centre and The International Hispanic Theatre Festival at the Adrienne Arsht Center, in Miami, Florida.

In 2008 after returning from France and the Sonny’s Blues Tour, Daryl moved to Los Angeles where he appeared as a principal in festival award-winning short feature films, "Meipporul", directed by Natty Kumar, and "Everyday Black Man", directed by Carmen Madden. He worked as a “Day Player” and was “Featured" in numerous TV shows including hits like "Private Practice", "Medium", "Community", "True Blood", "Greek", "Big Time Rush", and "Grey's Anatomy".

After relocating back to the Bay Area in 2014 Daryl turned his focus to the Voice Over world while continuing to cultivate other acting opportunities in Film, TV, and Industrials. Look for Daryl as the "Disheveled Man", in Season 1, Episode 2 of the psychological thriller, “Chance", starring Hugh Laurie. You can also hear Daryl in currently running commercials nationally for Travel Oregon Tourism, and regionally for Honda, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, and Sony Playstation. Some short films slated for festival appearances in 2023 that Daryl has starred or co- starred in most recently are “Veteran's Crisis Line”, written and directed by Gloria Downey, and as Narrator for the award winning short feature, “The Unknown Depths", written and directed by TK Devine.

Daryl is a spiritual man, an avid fan of sports, visual art, science fiction and truly enjoys spending time in the kitchen exploring the perfect Gumbo!
